    Review of “The Butcherman’s Lament”

“The Toxhards’ ‘The Butcherman’s Lament’ is an incredible piece of music that is larger than life that rivals the likes of ‘Bohemian Rhapsody,’ ‘The Black Parade,’ or ‘Jesus of Suburbia’ to name a few rock operas. Though ‘The Butcherman’s Lament’ is condensed down to 3:42 it is a song that takes up a lot of sonic space. If you enjoy a combination of rock and show tune you’ll lose your mind when you hear this one!”

    An Evening with The Toxhards

“I was already excited to see the Toxhards live for this reason, but I thought it would be a fairly conventional show for a rock band (avec pig costume). I was very, very wrong. To start, the concert was long. Despite only having ten songs released, the concert was a whopping twenty-four songs in length, due to the band peppering an already eclectic setlist of their own music with covers of other tracks ranging from the Jonas Brothers' 2000s pop classic ‘Burnin' Up’ to Rush's 10-minute long prog rock epic ‘La Villa Strangiato,’ from Creed's grungy 1999 hit ‘Higher’ to the Grateful Dead's beautiful and underrated ‘Franklin's Tower.’ Even when the band wasn't performing, the breaks between songs often displayed the members' undeniable chemistry.”

The Toxhards bring anthemic, ambitious pop-rock to Silver Moon Brewing

“The Toxhards are good, they’re different and they’re interesting. Are they breathing new life into rock ‘n’ roll? Who knows? That remains to be seen, really. But what they are doing is playing big, anthemic, dizzyingly ambitious and ridiculously catchy songs, and they’re doing so with great skill and swagger.”

“These guys have had a crazy year including tours, new singles, and the long-awaited sequel to Ængus, The Prize-Winning Hog. We discussed their "scrappy" theater club beginnings, Casey's dreams of being named as one of the worst drummers of all time, Alan drumming while roided out, Emerson's stomach ulcer, Casey getting his nose broken in Philly, the official title of their new album, and of course...Rush.”

“Lots of laughs with the half psych, half prog, half rock theater band The Toxhards who come on the show to talk about their past and present dogs that include Maisie, Archer, Henry, Hoss, Simon, Molly, Hershey and Ringo. They also speak about the inspiration behind their newly released single ‘Should We Get a Dog?’ that came out on February 16th. Plenty of great stories and a spontaneous drop in by bassist Alan Macchiarolo's parents make this episode one for the ages.”

Review of “Should We Get A Dog?”

“Los Angeles-based band The Toxhards ask ‘Should We Get A Dog?’ with their latest single, meshing a charismatic rockabilly throwback with a raucous power-pop fervency. Written during the band’s 2023 fall tour, the track is inspired by meeting many canine friends during those travels…

The fun-loving, ‘just take them on the road!’ finale is preceded by a perky rock arsenal preceding. The initial ‘I wrote this song,’ declaration conveys a Sun Records sort of throwback rock inspiration, with doo-wop-y vocal reflections rousing into the clap-laden touches and rockabilly ‘hit the gas!’ push. ‘Should We Get A Dog?’ is a catchy, no-frills success from The Toxhards.”

“The Toxhards celebrate signing to Hopeless Records with double singles”

Los Angeles-based rising rockers The Toxhards have released their first set of tunes through Hopeless Records, after signing in September. The two new punchy singles, ‘(The) Coffee Song’ and ‘October’ are available to stream now.

Talking about ‘(The) Coffee Song’ the band said :
’(The) Coffee Song’ is definitely an absurdist sort of satirical vignette of someone wasting away in corporate team America job hell. They're wise enough to dislike it but they will always try to convince themselves they love it. And the balance of mental collapse and blissful delusion hangs precariously on the thread of their coffee intake. This single feels like it's definitely carrying the torch forward in terms of the sort of tongue-in-cheek presentation we bring to some of our stuff, but much more manic. It feels sonically comparable to something like ‘Doombop!’ but with its own humor.

As for ‘October’ the band said :
’’October’ is actually the oldest song we've released thus far. Written in 2018, it's a meditation on a lot of mistakes I made. The lyrics remain the same as they were five years ago, however singing it now has a catharsis behind it from the benefit of experience and time.
It's now less about feeling the gravity of my mistakes, but rather the act of acceptance and forgiveness. The truth can really suck sometimes, and it's almost never convenient, but... it is the truth.’”

    "Doombop!" is indeed a doomBOP!

“If you’ve experienced a performance by The Toxhards, you’re no stranger to human-sized Hog vs. Butcher battles to the death, mid-song head shaves, face-melting Pink Floyd covers, and their iconic t-shirt tosses… At the Breaking Sound showcase, The Toxhards decided to up the ante with… a venue-wide AirDrop of an unreleased song that’s been long awaited by their followers. The Toxhards are known for their doombops, and this one, literally titled ‘Doombop!,’ did not disappoint.

They’ve been teasing this tune for months, starting with Alan giving their TikTok and Instagram followers a behind the scenes look at him exploring the hook with an acoustic guitar along with very early stage lyrics and gaps filled in by ‘la-da-das’ while fans commented their lyric suggestions… If there’s one thing those Toxhards know how to do, it’s interact with and engage their fans to get them really excited about their music, and the life cycle of ‘Doombop!’ thus far has been a perfect example of this.

Now let’s talk about this song. This is one of those songs that, no joke, I listened to on a loop for 20+ minutes. If there’s anything you take away from this article, let it be this: when this song officially drops, do yourself a favor and set your Spotify to single repeat, just trust me on this.

‘Doombop!’ will make your inner teenager want to crank the volume and scream along until the person in the car next to you starts to worry. It’s got the spirit of an angsty Elvis that transports you back to Heartbreak Hotel and makes your knees want to swivel. You know songs that are so dynamic, they change your breathing pattern? Like your lungs are dancing to the song? This is one of those. It hits you with those quintessential-Toxhard Pink Floydesque guitar breaks that just make you levitate a little, which is a nice break from the stomping and kicking stuff you’ll want to do for the rest of the song. The verses are gritty, a little funky, and have that sweet guitar riff Alan showed us a few months ago. The chorus has these awesome, rock’n’roll-doo-wop ‘mmmbops’ and ‘sha la las’ to it, so make sure you sing this as a duet with a friend. In true doombop fashion, the end has a bunch of group screaming, a little like a My Chemical Romance cover of ‘Hey Jude’ or even their ‘Dead!’ outro, so get your throat lozenges ready…

As I say after all Toxhards shows, ‘you just had to be there,’ but in this case, you LITERALLY had to be there to hear the incredible studio version of this song, for now at least. My only request is that they AirDrop the official instrumental at the next show, because I’m ready to karaoke this song into the ground.”

    The Toxhards - Doombop!

“‘Doombop!’ is a brilliant, genre bending indie punk song with 60’s pop elements, in a uniquely satisfying new track by the band The Toxhards. Scratching an itch you didn’t know you have ‘Doombop!’ digs itself deep into your headphones for repeat listening experiences.”

    Review of “Doombop!”

“I love the fire-and-forget feeling attached to this tune. When it’s time to scream, just do so! The tune shows exactly how it’s done. So your lesson for the night is to listen to this gem max volume in heavy traffic, windows down, singing along. There you have it, feelgood vibes, courtesy of The Toxhards.”

Alternative Psych-Rock Group The Toxhards Share New Single “Doombop!”

“Continuing to build their reputation as a band that is as unpredictable as they are catchy, alternative rock act The Toxhards have shared their latest single ‘Doombop!.’ Following their explosively wacky internet sensation ‘Ængus the Prize-Winning Hog,’ the band’s new release ‘Doombop!’ flips catchy ’50s doo-wop style on its head with a psychedelic-prog rock twist.

With its ‘doom’-filled lyrical content yet bright demeanour, the new single is a perfect anthem for dragging oneself through the day-to-day downfall of the world. Genre-bending to say the least, ‘Doombop!’ swaps structure for textured and euphoric instrumentals that combine playful mastering with flashy showmanship.”

THE TOXHARDS RELEASE EXCELLENT SINGLE “DOOMBOP!”

    [Translated from Portuguese to English]

“The Toxhards have released their new single ‘Doombop!’ that brings an indie rock with blues in a dancing, lively and very seductive sound.

The lyrics are about having to deal with adult life and not being able to do the things one wants. It has a comic and dramatic tone to the music which is very characteristic of the band, and shows their whole personality which is ideal for anyone who loves authentic and innovative bands.”

“The Toxhards is a superbly imaginative, genre defying band who really know how to put on an epic show! Progressive in every sense of the word, the musicianship in this band is outstanding! And the live presentation of their just-released single ‘Ængus, The Prize-Winning Hog’ is not be missed! True performance art!”

The Toxhards - FIRST CONCERT EVER

“Upon turning fourteen, I leapt with joy when my dad presented tickets to my first ever major concert experience: Metallica live at the Oracle Arena in Oakland. December 20th, 2008.

Few shows have ever captured the same magic of that night. The setlist was filled with the band’s staples, as well as tracks from their recent album, Death Magnetic - the first new Metallica release I had the joy of exploring. Black balloons fell from the ceiling as the encore ‘Seek And Destroy’ roared upon the crowd. Metallica drummer, Lars Ulrich, was pied at the tail end of the show, the entire audience singing ‘Happy Birthday’ for his upcoming birthday. My dad held me tight, as if they sang for me.”

“How Lucky Am I?” featured on DiSKOAver Weekly

“When this landed on my FYP and I heard the lyric, ‘How lucky am I that I can afford to be alive? How lucky am I that I’m living through the end of times?’ I scream-laughed so hard that I missed the rest of the song. I really love how this song just kinda laughs in the face of misery. Additionally, I discovered that the music video for this song was shot by singer Alan Macchiarolo’s mom while he was post-op high from ear surgery and doesn’t really remember shooting it, which officially makes this band’s sense of humor the best ever.”
